Stitched Save the Dates
I have just posted out some delightful Save the Date cards to a lovely client, they were a pleasure to make and brought a spot of spring sunshine into my rather chilly craft room this January.
Lizzy contacted me after seeing my Garden Party collection for Nichola & Jay’s wedding. Like Nichola, Lizzy is getting married on a farm in the Peak District and wanted something quite informal, relaxed and non-traditional, to reflect her and her fiancé Steve. My dream brief! Lizzy didn’t have a specific colour scheme in mind but liked the idea of bringing different colours and patterns together, tastefully of course! For a while I’d been thinking I wanted to explore the idea of using my much neglected sewing machine together with some shabby chic style fabrics on some new wedding stationery designs. So with Lizzy’s loose brief I created these simple but effective polka dot, post card sized, stitched, Save the Dates. I was very happy with the result, as was Lizzy! I can’t wait to start designing the invitations and other stationery, using a range of different fabrics to create what will hopefully be a marvellous, mismatched masterpiece of wedding loveliness!
