Onion Deli
Once again I’ve been sampling tea and cake in small but amazing independent tea rooms/cafes around the country and this post is all about Onion Deli, based on Aigburth Road, Liverpool. The cafe is a stone’s throw away from Sefton Park and Lark Lane, a beautiful street bursting with quirky vintage shops and more independent restaurants/cafes. So there’s nothing I love more when I’m visiting my best friend in Liverpool to have a lazy walk around the park (can walking be lazy? A laid back walk anyway) a browse down Lark Lane and then a lovely sit down and chat over cake.
As well as a wide choice of superb homemade cakes, Onion also offer amazing sandwiches, toasties, salads, breakfasts and even roast dinners on Sundays, all reasonably priced and made freshly in front of you. They even make their own bread and everything! I particuarly enjoyed my chorizo, sundried tomato and mozzarella toastie followed by a huge slab of deliciously moist carrot cake accompanied by a pot of tea.
In my opinion, Onion offer the best sandwiches and cakes in Liverpool! If you’re ever in the area be sure to pop in for a friendly treat.
