Lord Hurst’s Tea Rooms
As a massive tea and cake lover, I love to hunt out a good tea room whenever I visit a new place. This week I visited my home town of Doncaster to see my family and have a much needed catch up with my very close friend, Nichola. Having lived in Doncaster most of my life I didn’t know of anywhere decent to enjoy a good brew and slice of cake, but Nichola introduced me to the hidden gem that is Lord Hurt’s Florist, just on the outskirts of Doncaster town centre.
Although the main business of this shop is floristry, there is a large, extremely quirky tea room located at the back of the shop. We loved the crazy knick-knacks, the random decor and mis-matched rugs, drapes and cushions and the abstract artwork on the wall. It was very cosy and we spent hours in there catching up over yummy Paninis, generous slices of delicious cake and several cups of tea.I can definitely recommend a visit to Lord Hurst’s tea rooms if you fancy a delicious afternoon tea treat in somewhere a little different to your usual coffee shop.
