My final wedding of the year and a very special one at that. I have been friends with Katie since we were at playgroup so I was very excited to be able to share her day with her and honoured to be asked to design and make her wedding stationery and favours.

Katie and Sean got married on 17th December at St Mary & St Cuthbert church in Durham, followed by a beautiful reception at the stunning venue that is Lumley Castle Hotel. It is a well known fact amongst Katie’s friends that she goes crazy about Christmas so it was no surprise that she chose to get married the week before Christmas!  Katie and Sean went for a very sophisticated, simple style of invitation which I designed back in August and this theme continued through to the on the day stationery.

Rustic cork place names

The decor was very classy and chic with a hint of rustic charm. Katie collected corks from her local wine bar and asked me to make them into place name holders, the favours were handmade gold wooden hearts for the ladies and mini bottles of flavoured vodka for the males, each with a handmade and handwritten rustic tag tied to the favour with a ‘Merry Christmas’ message from the bride and groom.

The tables were named after different types of cheeses which I think reflected the cheese-loving couple perfectly! The wedding cake was even constructed out of tiered cheeses which looked fantastic and went down very well indeed with some crackers and chutney later in the evening! Congratulations Kitty & Sean!
