Cake Club

I love lemon cake. I mean really love it. And I think I have discovered the best recipe ever for it thanks to the lovely Delia Smith – you can always count on good old Delia for a proper solid recipe! I made this lovely lemon layer cake for my mum last weekend, for Mother’s day, complete with handmade bunting, after making it for Brooke’s Homemade Cake Club last month.

Yes that’s right, I am a member of a cake club! We meet once a month, taking our own homemade cakes, trying a bit of everyone else’s, sharing recipes and trying out new icing techniques. All good fun really! Well my lemon layer cake went down pretty well, think it was the only cake that had all gone by the end of the night! (whoop get me!) Oh and did I mention, the lemon curd in the cake is homemade – so impressed!
